A woman died after she was hit by a speeding motorcycle as she was crossing the street in Barangay Alangilan, Batangas.
As shown in a CCTV footage, the impact threw the victim about 10 meters away.
Police said the driver had difficulty pressing the brakes because of the speed at which he was traveling.
"Noong pagtawid po niya, bigla pong may dumating na napakabilis na motor at siya po ay nabangga kung saan ang kanyang kinatapunan pinagkatalsikan ay almost 10 meters... napakalayo po," PLT. Ragemer Hermidilla from Batangas City Police Station, said.
The victim left her house at 3 a.m. to buy fish.
The rider involved in the incident has reached a settlement with the victim's family through a notarized agreement.
"Humingi naman po ng tawad at hindi sinasadya at ito nga po'y aksidente, naggawan naman po ng paraan sa pamamagitan ng settlement na may third party involved na napaggawan ng notaryo na babayaran po lahat ng danyos perwisyo," Hermidilla said.
Authorities are urging motorists to exercise extra caution and adhere to speed limits.
