A man was run over by a truck at the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) at around 8 a.m. on February 22, 2024 in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, Cebu.

According to a report of the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA), the man traveled from Naga City on board his motorcycle.

Prior to the incident, he ferried his wife, after which, he headed to Poblacion, Talisay City.

He figured in the accident at the CSCR and was run over by the truck when he fell to the ground.

The man, 27 years old, is found to be a seaman and resident of Barangay Inoburan in Naga City, the report added.

Based on CCTV footage, the trailer truck and the victim were both traveling toward the north.

The truck was ahead of the motorcycle. However, the motorcycle had overtaken the truck. But when the motorcycle was moving side by the side of the truck, it fell on its side.

The driver of the truck was identified as Ondo Kilme, 44 years old, who apologized to the family of the victim.

He said he did not see the motorcycle rider beforehand.

He is yet to meet the family of the victim, as of this writing.

Charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide is prepared against the driver.
