At least 15 goats were found dead in Masbate with some disemboweled while others seem to have been drained of blood.

Residents of Barangay San Rafael, San Pascual, Masbate were puzzled by the simultaneous deaths of their goats.

According to Monica Gallarde, a resident of Barangay San Rafael, they found five of their goats dead. The goats were either gutted or seemed to have their blood sucked out.

Aside from Gallarde's goats, 10 others were found dead in different locations in Masbate.

The residents still have no idea who or what is behind the incident.

No one has reported the incident to the police yet but authorities said that dogs may be responsible for the incidents.

As of this writing, the PNP is open to conducting an investigation into the incident.

Earlier in January 2024 in San Juan, Abra, four goats were also found dead with their bodies either mutilated or ripped open, and organs missing.

The Municipal Agriculture Office in Abra said there have been similar incidents in the past and dogs were the culprits.

"Dapat vigilant sila, kailangan malaman kung ano o sino ang may kagagawan. Mahirap magsalita kung hindi naman totoo. Baka mamaya [niyan] magtuturuan ang mga magkakapitbahay,” Antonio Beroña, San Juan Municipal Agriculturist, said.

The residents in Abra started tying their animals up close to their homes as a precautionary measure.
