Two schools in the Visayas made it to the list of top-performing schools in the Licensure Examination for Criminologists given by the Board of Criminology last February 2024.

Southern Leyte State University in Sogod town in Eastern Visayas Region and the University of Iloilo in Western Visayas Region ranked Number 5 and Number 6, respectively, in the Top 10 list.

Southern Leyte State University scored a passing percentage of 93.44, while the University of Iloilo posted 90.19 percent.

The ranking is based on schools with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing percentage.

The announcement was made by the Professional Regulation Commission upon release of licensure examination results with 15,684 new criminologists, or 48.27 percent, of 32,495 examinees.

"We have achieved an outstanding rating of 98.28% for first-time takers with an overall performance of 93.44%, landing us on the 5th spot of the Top Performing Schools for the February 2024 CLE. A warm congratulations to our new criminologist[s]! Your Southern Leyte State U family is proud of your remarkable achievement!" the school posted on its social media page. 

University of Iloilo in Iloilo City lauded its new criminologists in a post as well.

"Congratulations to all the newly registered criminologists for this remarkable achievement! Truly this is where we make lives better through education," the post reads.
