A lineman died after he and one other were electrocuted while installing a post for a telecommunication company in Purok 5, Barangay Marifosque, Pilar, Sorsogon.

The incident happened when the post being set up came into contact with the secondary line of the electric company, the police said.

The accident resulted in two individuals getting electrocuted, one of whom is the lineman. 

"Nasabitan po ‘yung secondary line… dun po na- electrocute yung dalawa… ‘yung isa itong biktima na buhay naka-gloves siya, yung isa na katulong niya, yung tumulong sa kanya sa pagtayo, yung lineman, wala siyang gloves," PSSG. Christopher Lopez, an investigator from the Pilar Municipal Police Station, said.

Responders from the Pilar Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) administered initial revival efforts before transferring the victims to the hospital.

The lineman was declared dead on arrival, while his companion sustained injuries.

As of this writing, authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident. The telecommunication company has not yet released a statement.
