At least 10 people were injured when the passenger bus they were on crashed into a truck parked on the side of the road in Lupi, Camarines Sur.
Those injured included the driver and nine passengers.
According to the Lupi Municipal Police Station, the bus was traveling to Naga City, Camarines Sur from Metro Manila when high beam lights of vehicles in the opposite direction blinded the driver, and the bus crashed into the truck.
The impact pinned the driver in his seat and it took responders nearly three hours to free him from the bus. He and the nine passengers who were injured were brought to the hospital.
The bus company assured it will shoulder the medical expenses.
As of this writing, the police await the decision of the passengers on whether or not they would file charges.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating why the truck has not been removed from the side of the road several days after it experienced mechanical problems.
"Yung mga trucking naman, ang mga may-ari, kung sakaling masiraan sa biyahe nila papunta sa pagdadalhan ng produkto, (sana) ma-rescue agad para hindi makaapekto sa highway na daanan ng mga sasakyan," PSSG. Joan Avila, the Investigator-on-Case from Lupi MPS, said.
