A 22-year-old man met a brutal death in a road accident in Barangay Banilad, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Based on investigation, the man was driving his motorcycle on the way to Tagaytay when he tried to overtake a car. But because he reportedly did so hesitantly, he ended up hitting the rear portion of the car, instead. The impact threw him off his motorcycle to the opposite lane where he was run over by another car.

"Human error… mag-o-overtake siya [pero] nagipit siya sa overtake kaya bumangga siya doon siya rear portion noong vehicle one… and then tumilapon siya tapos yung kanyang vehicle… nung tumilapon siya, paparating naman yung vehicle 3, nabangga [siya]," PMAJ. Ricaredo Dalisay, Deputy Chief of the Nasugbu Police Station, said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but did not make it there alive.

The passengers of the two cars involved are safe. The rider’s family and the drivers of the two cars have reportedly started a conversation, police said.

"Nagkaroon na sila ng negotiation about doon sa pangyayari… magbibigay ng tulong financial, ‘yung vehicle three at vehicle one," Dalisay said.

Dalisay advised motorists to exercise caution.

"Konting dahan-dahan lang po sa ating pagmamaneho. Magiging lesson learned [ito] sa mga [motorista]. Huwag masyado mabilis magpatakbo at makakarating din naman sila sa kanilang paroroonan," he said.
