A man and his son died when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a truck parked along the road in Barangay Sabang, Tuy, Batangas.

The victims were on their way home to Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Police said the father and son were under the influence of alcohol.

"Ang nakikita po namin dito is under the influence of liquor ‘yung magka-angkas kasi galing po sila sa isang lamayan ng kamag-anak tapos nagmaneho, overspeeding na rin," PMAJ. Roy Cuevas, Officer-in-Charge of Tuy Police Station, said.

The victims did not make it alive in the hospital. Their remains were transported back to Cavite.

The family of the victims has reportedly opted not to file a complaint against the truck driver, as the truck company has agreed to cover the expenses.

"Nagkaroon na po sila ng settlement at hindi na rin po nagsampa ng reklamo ang pamilya dahil sasagutin na nung truck company ang gastusin," Cuevas said.

This incident is the second crash involving a motorcycle and a parked truck in Tuy in 2024.

Cuevas reminded motorists:

"Kung magmamaneho po ng anumang sasakyan, huwag pong mag-iinom, at huwag din magmamaneho ng puyat para naman makaiwas na tayo sa ganitong insidente," he said.
