Sorsogon City has been declared a drug-cleared city, the first city to be drug-cleared in the Bicol Region, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The Municipality of Bulan was also declared drug-cleared.

According to PDEA, four other municipalities in the province of Sorsogon are next in line to undergo intensified monitoring and efforts to achieve drug-cleared status.

With these announcements, areas cleared of illegal drugs are urged to sustain their efforts and uphold their honorable status.

“In case po na may namonitor po tayo na mga personalities na involved against [illegal drugs] sa barangay na yan we will conduct immediate intervention... dun naman po sa drug personality na drug pusher we will immediately conduct drug operation para po mamaintain ng barangay nay an yung pagiging drug cleared," IA V Adrian Fajardo, Provincial Officer of PDEA Sorsogon, said.
