After her one-week stay at the hospital, the three-year-old girl attacked by four dogs in Calbiga town, Samar went through a successful seven-hour operation.
The first operation on the child at the Eastern Visayas Medical Center in Tacloban City dealt with the wounds all over her body.
As she marked her third birthday on March 19, 2024, Tuesday, the successful operation has served as a gift to her and to her mother as well.
The operation was made possible because of the assistance provided by the community and netizens who pooled resources to settle her medical bills and other expenses.
As of this posting, the girl is set to undergo a gluteal plastic surgery on March 22, 2024 to reconstruct portions of her buttocks bitten by the four dogs.
Her parents have expressed thanks to the compassionate persons who handed over financial assistance and those who prayed for the girl’s fast and total recovery.
Rene Castino, who headed a donation drive, said that funds contributed through e-wallet have reached close to P400,000. He said they look forward to more help pouring in for the child’s medicines, milk, and other needs while recuperating at the hospital.
