An estimated 100,000 passengers are expected to go through the Cebu North Bus Terminal and Cebu South Bus Terminal during the observance of Holy Week 2024.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia checked personally the situation at the South Bus Terminal on March 27, 2024 along with government officials, personnel of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and police forces.

She checked the ticketing office, waiting area, including the restrooms to assure passengers get to experience convenience, comfort, and clean restrooms and that the air-conditioning units are working properly.

According to Rodenita Eagan, operations head of the North and South Bus Terminals, operators assure of 300 buses available to accommodate the influx of passengers. The bus terminals are open 24 hours.

Dr. Evangeline Andesa of the Provincial Health Office said they have mounted a health help desk for be able to attend promptly to passengers with medical or health issues. 

The LTFRB has also checked the roadworthiness of buses. LTFRB issued 176 special permits to buses to be able to ferry all passengers to their destinations.

Eduardo Montealto, LTFRB 7 director, has also warned vehicles from ferrying passengers illegally, referred to colloquially as “kolorum."

At least 1,800 personnel of the Cebu Police Provincial Office were deployed to ensure public safety and orderliness, according to Police Colonel Percival Zorilla, CPPO director.
