Approximately 70,000 passengers have passed through the Batangas Port in five days since Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024 until Maundy Thursday, the peak of travel for those leaving and entering the port for the Holy Week.

Port authorities have assured continuous operation even on Good Friday, albeit with reduced services.

Despite the influx of travelers, safety measures at the port remain consistent.

The port is an entry point to other provinces, including the Mindoro Provinces and Odiongan and Roxas in Romblon.

On Maundy Thursday, lines at ticket booths moved smoothly.

CJ Hernandez said they bought their tickets without much delay. He and his family were bound for Abra de Ilog in Occidental Mindoro.

Another traveler, Aaron Daroy, was headed to the famous White Beach in Puerto Galera.

"Binabalik-balikan talaga siya every year, mga events din mga water activities," he said.
