University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA swept San Sebastian College-Recoletos in the NCAA Season 99 Women’s Volleyball on the birthday of the Lady Altas’ coach, Sandy Rieta.

The Las Piñas-based school showed their mastery of the Lady Stags, 25-23, 27-25, 25-14.

Best player of the game, Jhasmine Sapin, told GMA Regional TV News that Perpetual delivered a statement game after their hard-fought victory against San Beda University reached the deciding set.

“Para sa akin, bawi po talaga itong game na to kasi hindi na po dapat umabot sa ganon kahaba ang game last game… mindset ko lang talaga ngayon hanggang three sets lang po talaga…bawal nang humaba pa,” Sapin said.

The setter from Kawit, Cavite had 14 excellent sets and a service ace for the Lady Altas.

“Sinasabi ko lang sa kanila lagi na pag may mali sa set ko sabihin po nila agad para ma adjust ko,” Sapin said on her performance.

Aside from Sapin, Shaila Omipon also had a stellar outing with 16 points while Mary Rhose Dapol and team captain Razel Aldea chipped in 11 points each.

The Lady Altas’ victory only made Coach Sandy Rieta’s birthday sweeter.

“Syempre masaya, special… birthday and then panalo pa,” Rieta said.

Perpetual improved their standing with four wins and two losses just behind College of St. Benilde and Lyceum of the Philippines University, and tying with Mapua University, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Despite the momentum on their side, Rieta noted that there is still a lot to improve on for the Lady Altas.

“Yung mga lapses pa rin namin, yung mga errors, yun naman lagi yung ina-adjust namin sa training, yung errors namin,” he said.

Meanwhile, struggling San Sebastian continues to search for their first win as they extended their losing streak to six.
