Local governments in northern Luzon have responded to a tsunami warning issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) after the earthquake that hit off Taiwan morning on April 3, 2024. 

PHIVOLCS would eventually cancel the tsunami warning at 11 a.m. on April 3, 2024. 

According to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), as of 10:30 a.m., local government units (LGU) in Northern Luzon have not reported rise in water levels in their areas.

The following LGUs have taken action after the issuance of the tsunami warning:

CAGAYAN:

Sta. Ana - suspended all classes in all levels and work in public offices
Abulug - suspended all classes in all levels and work in public offices
Ballesteros - suspended all classes in all levels and work in public offices
Pamplona - suspended all classes in all levels and work in public offices
Buguey - suspended all classes in all levels
Ballesteros - barangays were evacuated along the coastal areas; suspended all classes in all levels 
Gonzaga -  evacuated communities at risk and two barangays along the coastal areas
Claverio - suspended all classes in all levels
Sanchez Mira - suspended all classes in all levels
Sta. Teresita - suspended all classes in all levels
Appari - suspended all classes in all levels
Calayan - suspended all classes in all levels
Camalaniugan - suspended all classes in all levels

BATANES: 

Three barangays have conducted evacuations of communities along coastal areas.

ILOCOS REGION:

All coastal LGUs conducted their ocular inspection thru PNP, PCG and LDRRMO personnel
Pasuquin - evacuation center readied in Barangay Estancia; fishing boats in Barangays Binsang, Naglicuan, Puyupuyan, Susugaen, and Davila were secured
Currimao - suspension of classes in all levels; work suspension in private and public offices near the coast
Bangui - suspended all classes in all levels
Badoc - suspended all classes in all levels
Burgos - suspended all classes in all levels in coastal barangays
