A Korean national was killed while two others were arrested after they robbed allegedly at around 9 p.m. on April 3, 2024 their compatriot who lives in a high-end subdivision in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

Recovered from the suspects are pieces of jewelry including luxury watches, and cash worth P200,000. The loot is estimated to be worth P23 million.

A policeman was also wounded after one of the suspects reportedly fired at the arresting officer, according to Police Major Romeo Caacoy, chief of the Mabolo Police Station. 

Caacoy said the cop is already out of danger and is recuperating in the hospital.

The two Korean suspects were taken to the Mabolo Police Station.

The victim is a Korean businessman renting a house in a posh subdivision.

Personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division, Special Weapons and Tactics, City Intelligence Unit-Cebu City Police Office, and Mabolo Police Station responded to the robbery alarm.

Charges for robbery and frustrated murder will be filed against the Korean nationals.

The news team sought comment from the suspects but they refused an interview.
