An 18-year-old man in Cagayan de Oro City was arrested after he allegedly threatened to release nude photos and videos of a 13-year-old girl online if she would not have sex with him and give him P1,000. 

The suspect was arrested during an entrapment operation. 

Operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit-Northern Mindanao (RACU-10) launched the operation after the victim sought for assistance.

Authorities are looking into how the suspect obtained the victim's photos when they reportedly do not know each other. Police suspect the photos may have come from another person who may know the victim.

“Wala silay relation kay ang katung original picture gikan gyud to sa lain pud nga adunay connection sa bata sauna. So mao pud na ang atong gitagaan og pagtagad,” RACU-10 Chief, Lt. Col. Lemuel Gonda, said.

Police confiscated the suspect’s cellphone, which contains the victim’s photos and videos, including the messages of the suspect threatening the victim.

The victim will undergo counseling.

On the other hand, the suspect, who has yet to give a statement, underwent inquest proceedings and will face charges.

“Ang pahimangno nato sa mga ginikanan nga kung ang ilang anak na involved og ingon ani ila dayun i-report sa ato or sa lain pud bahin kung ang mga ginikanan ilang itolerate ang ilang mga anak ani pwede sila ang mao ang kasohan dayun i-rescue nato ang bata,” Gonda added.
