A 61-year-old woman died while her 64-year-old husband was unconscious, as of this writing, after the couple figured in a road mishap in the City of Lapu-Lapu, Cebu.
The couple was on board a motorcycle when a passenger multicab hit them at past 10 a.m. in Barangay Ibo on April 8, 2024.
In an initial investigation by the Lapu-Lapu City Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, the vehicles were traveling on different lanes.
The motorcycle was headed for Barangay Pusok while the multicab was plying toward Barangay Ibo. But when the multicab reached the ML Quezon National Highway in the vicinity of the Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), it reportedly overtook another vehicle.
However, the driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle and hit the motorcycle plying on an outer lane. No passenger was on board the multicab when the incident happened.
