A pickup truck was hit by a train at a railroad crossing in Barangay Cabagñan West, Legazpi City, Albay.

Police said the pickup truck reportedly crossed the train tracks forcefully, resulting in it being hit by the approaching train.

The train was bound for Naga City, Camarines Sur.

Fortunately, the truck’s driver, a woman, suffered only minor injuries.

There was no crossing keeper present when the incident occurred. A crossing keeper stops vehicles from crossing the tracks when a train is approaching.

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) has not yet released a statement regarding the incident as of this writing.

"So nakausap naman namin kahapon ‘yung representative ng PNR, ipapaabot din nila sa main office nila [yung issue] kasi dapat meron talagang tao [crossing keeper]. Sa part naman ng mga motorista number one [rule] dyan [is to] stop, look and listen tayo,” PSSG Leocris Espiloy, Officer-in-Charge of the Legazpi City Police Station, said.
