Authorities have launched an investigation into reports of an elderly man roaming around a barangay in Camarines Sur with a sword. 

The presence of an elderly man with a samurai sword reportedly alarmed residents during an event in Barangay Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur.

The incident was captured on video, which also showed people scattering.

Prior to the incident, there were reports of a man with a sharp weapon roaming around several houses in the area, causing fear among residents.

“Yaon digdi nakatindog lang pero si agom ko dae ko pigpasirip digdi ta baka nyako kung tusukon ka tapos kung takrason si payo niya,” Evelyn Parra, a resident, said.

Orlando Baliber, a barangay watchman described the man:

“Dae po siya malangkaw sakuya pero dakula po si hawak niya. Ukas siya mayong bado, tapos kulot ang buhok,” he said.

Following the incident, residents expressed fear and anxiety, affecting their daily routines.

“Grabe po ang takot mi si aki ko ngani po dae na nakaturog, grabe po si nerbyos niya,” Babylyn, a resident, said.

As of this writing, police are conducting validation and investigation into the matter. Authorities are also coordinating with other barangays in Bula to ensure the safety and security of residents.
