Authorities intercepted a van transporting approximately two tons of suspected shabu worth P13.3 billion at a checkpoint in Barangay Pinagkrusan, Alitagtag, Batangas.
PNP chief, PGEN. Rommel Francisco Marbil, was present at the scene.
The driver of the van, a resident of Masagana, Quezon City, was arrested by police led by PCPT. Luis De Luna Jr., Officer-in-Charge of the Alitagtag Municipal Police Station (MPS).
According to the police, the suspect appeared nervous when asked about his license during inspection.
Upon further examination, blue woven sacks covering the back of the van were removed, revealing containers filled with plastic bags containing the suspected shabu.
The van was then found to be loaded with similar woven sacks with the same content.
