A warehouse containing tires was hit by fire in Barangay Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City past midday on Friday, April 19, 2024.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the fire to fourth alarm because of risks it posed to neighboring houses.
Authorities said the fire spread quickly as tires are highly flammable. Firefighters also had a hard time putting out the fire because of the fence and strong winds.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire and checking the cost of damage.
The fire did spread to the houses.
“So far kaluoy man sa Ginoo bisan paman nga naay sunog atong mga responding fire fighters ug atong allied forces from different fire brigade kaluoy sa ginoo wala man naitaho,” City Fire District Spokesperson, Inspector Samson Velarde, said.
