An alleged illegal gun dealer was killed while three others were arrested in a firearms buy-bust operation in Talayan, Maguindanao del Sur.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG-BAR) claimed that the suspects fired shots at the operatives upon sensing that they were dealing with authorities, prompting the operatives to return fire.
A 52-year-old suspect died while his three companions were arrested. Authorities are pursuing the other suspect who escaped.
Confiscated from the suspects were four high-powered firearms and ammunition.
The suspects arrested are now detained and will face charges for alleged unlawful sale of firearms and ammunition and for possession of unlicensed firearms.
