At least 51 people were apprehended in Kidapawan City for violating the anti-smoking and vaping ordinance.

Based on the report of the Kidapawan City Anti-Vice Regulation and Enforcement (KIDCARE) Unit, at least 51 violators were apprehended from March 31, 2024 to April 15, 2024.

Under the ordinance, selling cigarettes and vape to minors is also prohibited in the city.

Violators will be made to pay a fine ranging from P1,500 to P5,000.

Meanwhile, the city’s Traffic Management and Enforcement Unit (TMEU) also apprehended 26 colorum tricycles since February 2024.

These tricycles are plying several streets in the city without permits and franchises.

Aside from paying a certain amount as penalty, the tricycle may also be confiscated by the city government.

Authorities warned the public to refrain from riding colorum tricycles for their safety.
