A driver and his assistant were found dead after they were electrocuted by a live wire that got entangled at the rear portion of their dump truck at a quarry site in Taysan, Batangas.

Based on police investigation, the truck driver was adjusting the dump box of their vehicle before loading sand from the quarrying site when they came into contact with the live wire.

The assistant tried to help the driver, but both succumbed to electrocution.

The rear portion of the truck also caught fire as the live wire reportedly grazed the dump box.

Mickglo Mariñas, Chief of the Taysan Police Station, said.

The incident happened at night and the victims’ bodies were found only the morning after.

The bodies of the victims have been transported to their respective homes in Tanza, Cavite, and Montalban, Rizal, according to the police.

The management of the quarry site is yet to release a statement regarding the incident.

Authorities advised extra caution to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
