The remains of two of three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died in the massive flooding in Dubai have been turned over to their families in Pampanga and Cagayan.

The remains of Jenny Gamboa, one of the three OFWs, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport where her father and siblings were waiting.

Gamboa and her companion reportedly suffocated inside their company shuttle service at the height of the flood.

With the assistance of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Gamboa’s remains were brought home to Bacolor, Pampanga.

Likewise, the remains of 30-year-old Marjorie Ancheta, another victim of the devastating floods in Dubai, have been brought back to her family in Amulung, Cagayan.

Marjorie’s mother received her daughter's remains at the Tuguegarao City Airport.

Marjorie, who was a teacher in Dubai, left behind three children, who are now orphaned.

The family said they are still puzzled over the circumstances surrounding Marjorie’s death in the shuttle.

“Talagang palaisipan kasi may nabuhay [at] may namatay. Hindi naman nalubog ang sasakyan at ang gulong nakikita pa kaya malaking tanong,” Maricris Ancheta, Marjorie's mother, said.

According to the Ancheta family, OWWA and DMW continue to coordinate with them for their needs and assistance.
