A 53-year-old man was shot dead in Barangay Palson, Bula, Camarines Sur.

Residents reported hearing several gunshots in the area.

“Mga alas otso siguro, may nadangog na dyan na nagputok. Digdi man ngani sa zone four, itong mga nakatambay diyan dae man sinda makahiro, ta dinangog lang talaga nindang nagpuputok diyan,” Lorenzo Orosco, Barangay Councilman, said.

Upon investigation, authorities determined that a .45 caliber firearm was used in the shooting.

The victim was identified as a resident of Bato, Camarines Sur.

The police are pursuing persons of interest, and a possible drug-related motive is being considered.

“Mangalas ka kung tano yaon digdi sa AOR mi na siya taga Bato. Kaya iyo po ang pinu-pursue mi, nag backtracking kami [kan] investigation pabalik sa Bato, and medyo may linaw naman po pwedeng drug-related si kaso,” PCapt. Jaime Enciso Jr., Officer in Charge of Bula Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.
