A man was killed while his two companions were arrested after they attempted to steal a motorcycle in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat.

The suspect identified as alias “Ari” was shot when he allegedly drew his gun to fire at the policemen pursuing him and his companions, alias “Lukman” and alias “Oman.”

Prior to the chase, the three suspects who were also on board a motorcycle tried to steal a motorcycle by pointing a gun at the owner. However, because they were in a rush, they failed to cart the vehicle away, until authorities started pursuing them.

Authorities recovered a caliber .45 pistol, a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, and the motorcycle from the suspects.

“To our men on the ground, keep in mind that your bravery and perseverance in running after criminals do not go unnoticed. Thus, continue the display the excellence in the performance of all your duties,” Police Regional Office-12 Director, Brigadier General Percival Augustus Placer, said.
