Suspected shabu estimated to be worth P21 million was seized in Lapu-Lapu City on May 8, 2024.

A woman and a member of the LGBT community found to have possessed the illegal drugs were arrested in a buy-bust operation on the night of May 8, 2024 in Barangay Basak.

The suspected shabu was estimated to have weighed three kilos and 100 grams.

The buy-bust operation was carried out by the Agus Police Station led by Police Major Judith Besas, in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit through Police Lieutenant Colonel Dindo Alaras, and Police Captain Abraham Igot, deputy chief. 

Mayor Junard Chan witnessed the operation along with his daughter, Jasmine Chan who is the barangay chairman of Basak. 

Police Colonel Ali Baron, director of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, has lauded the efforts of Precinct 4  or Agus Police Station for the haul considered the biggest so far in the city for 2024.
