What began as playful banter between two security guards at a museum in Vigan City turned into a serious altercation, resulting in one guard getting wounded.
According to the police, the exchange of jokes between the victim and the suspect started while they were on duty, and escalated when they were already on their way home.
“Pagdating dito sa may Quezon Avenue, bumaba itong suspek tapos kinuha yung helmet, [at] pinalo sa isa,” PLTCOL. Rogelio Remiendo Jr., Officer-in-Charge of Vigan City Police Station, said.
The two ended up punching each other, until the 33-year-old suspect stabbed the 39-year-old victim five times in the abdomen using a key chain knife.
The victim has been given medical attention.
Based on the suspect’s statement, it appeared that he has been angry at the victim for quite some time.
He said it was the victim who allegedly hit him first with a helmet but more than this, the victim has allegedly bullied him every morning since 2023.
“Hindi ko rin gusto ‘yung ginawa ko pero dala ng galit. Simula 2023 kasi, binu-bully na niya ako tuwing umaga sa formation namin; kung anu-ano pinagsasabi niya,” the suspect said.
