A fetus was found in the drain of one of the bathrooms of a college school in Daraga, Albay.

According to the Daraga Municipal Police Station (MPS), a student stumbled upon the fetus. They believe that it was brought there on the same day it was found.

The fetus was taken to the hospital where it was determined to be approximately 10 weeks old. 

Authorities believe that whoever brought the fetus to the bathroom may have also used the facility. They are not discounting the possibility that it could be an outsider.

Investigation continues, as of this writing.

Police said that if it is found that the fetus was aborted intentionally, the person responsible may face charges.

“Depende po sa kalabasan ng investigation. Kapag intentional po, kumbaga sinadya niyang in-abort, pwede po doon may pananagutan [siya], intentional abortion ang kakaharapin niya,” PMSG Marian Jess Rico, Public Information Officer of the Daraga MPS, said.
