The Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has apprehended at least 40,000 motorists for traffic violations from January to April 2024.
Up to P22.5 million was collected from the violators.
Data from the TEU-DCPO showed that more than 6,000 motorists were fined for violating the speed limit ordinance from which the city collected more than P5.8 million in fines.
On the other hand, nearly 35,000 motorists were apprehended for violating the Local Traffic Code, including non-wearing of helmet, no registration, and no plate. Authorities have collected more than P16.7 million from the violators.
Meanwhile, over P9.9 million was collected from violators of the Land Transportation and Traffic Code (RA 4136) in the city.
