The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed a criminal complaint with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor against a teacher in Lubao, Pampanga who allegedly subjected three male Grade Nine students to verbal and physical abuse during an exam.

“Allegedly itong ating subject teacher — drop out range kasi itong mga estudyanteng mga biktima — [sila] ay nagkaroon ng heated arguments… So nakikita doon sa viral video, those victims were subjected to physical abuse and verbal abuse,” PLTCOL. Dedrick Relativo, Chief of Lubao Police Station, said.

The parents of the students were devastated upon seeing the video, which surfaced online and went viral.

“Masakit po bilang ina na nakikitang nasasaktan ang anak mo ng ganun ka brutal na pananakit…. at saka teacher pa, syempre sila yung tumatayong pangalawang magulang kapag nasa school,” a parents of one of the students, said.

The Schools Division Office of Pampanga said the teacher has been relieved of duties and the complaint has been forwarded to the Regional Office of DepEd for investigation.

According to the PNP, the teacher will face charges under RA 7610 or the Child Abuse Law.
