A soldier and two Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) members were killed while six others were injured after the military truck they were riding fell into a ravine in New Bataan, Davao de Oro.

According to the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11), the victims were heading to a groundbreaking event in Barangay Andap when the accident happened.

Police said the driver reportedly lost control of the truck.

A week earlier, four members of the PNP Special Action Force were injured after the truck they were also riding figured in an accident on Mc Arthur Highway in Barangay Bago Aplaya, Davao City.

Authorities said the truck was heading to the downtown area when it fell on its side due to the slippery and uneven road.

The truck driver and three passengers, all are SAF members, reportedly sustained minor injuries.

They were taken to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for medication.
