The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded a total of 10 volcanic earthquakes, including three volcanic tremors, at Taal Volcano on May 22, 2024.
The sulfur dioxide emissions from the volcano have decreased to over 3,823 tons, while the volcanic plume reached a height of 1,500 meters.
Despite these activities, PHIVOLCS reported no volcanic smog or vog around Taal Volcano.
The volcano remains at Alert Level 1, indicating low-level unrest.
Staying on Taal Volcano Island is still prohibited, which is designated as a permanent danger zone.
Flying any aircraft close to the volcano's summit is also prohibited.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay vigilant.
