An additional 20 Local Government Units (LGUs) in Eastern Visayas have passed the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) After Assessment Compliance.
The LGUs are Silvino Lubos, Las Navas, and Mondragon in the Province of Northern Samar; San Jorge and San Jose de Buan in Samar Province; Biliran, Caibiran, and Culaba in Biliran Province; and Bato, Capoocan, Dagami, Hindang, Inopacan, Jaro, MacArthur, Mahaplag, Matag-ob, Palompon, San Isidro, and Tunga in the Province of Leyte.
According to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), these LGUs are "in addition to the 119 GFH Passers in Region 8 for Calendar Year 2023."
Since its inception in 2010, the GFH has served as an assessment tool used by the DILG to measure the performance of the local government in the use of public funds with full transparency.
“Congratulations to all the Eastern Visayas GFH after assessment compliance passers for your commitment to transparent fiscal governance,” DILG 8 said in a post on May 23, 2024 at around 9 a.m.
The DILG report on the first set of passers was released in January 2024.
