A nun sustained a gunshot wound on her back when a perpetrator shot her pointblank at her dormitory in Barangay Burabod, Kawayan town in the Province of Biliran.
Alias “Gemma” was reportedly watching a telecast (television broadcast) of a Holy Mass in the evening of May 26, 2024 when a man knocked at the door looking for her. When alias “Gemma” stood up and walked to the door to attend to the inquiry, the man shot her twice.
The 75-year-old nun was rushed to the hospital where she is now recuperating.
As of posting time, Kawayan Police are still to determine the identity of the perpetrator and the motive of the shooting.
