Overnight heavy rainfall caused part of a bridge under construction in Cabaroan, Pinili, Ilocos Norte, to collapse.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) announced a temporary ban on heavy vehicles crossing the bridge.
The collapse has also caused significant inconvenience, as people had to take longer routes to get home.
A day after the incident, all types of vehicles were permitted to pass through again.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Second District is yet to release a statement, as of this writing.
The incident has caused concern among residents, who fear the bridge might collapse completely.
"Dapat maaksyunan na kaagad, kasi siyempre yung kabila niyan, hindi pa madaanan – baka kapag gumuho yun ay wala na, baka wala nang makakadaan na sasakyan pag nagkataon,” Lilibeth Ines, a resident, said.
