A four-year-old child died after he fell into the Bicol River in Barangay San Francisco, Camaligan, Camarines Sur. The incident was captured on a closed circuit  television (CCTV) camera.

CCTV footage shows the boy playing near the riprap by the Bicol River, then the child slipped and fell into the river.

Based on a police investigation, the boy was playing with other kids in the area when the accident occurred. 

The boy's mother was at work at that time.

"Nagkakarawat ining mga aki and ining four-year old na victim ta, at about 6 p.m., nagsakat siya duman sa may riprap sa may Barangay San Francisco digdi sa Camaligan," PCPT. Fatima Lanuza, Deputy Chief of Police of the Camaligan Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.

The incident was reported to authorities hours after it happened.

Authorities conducted a search and retrieval operation and they found the boy’s body about a kilometer from where the child had fallen, almost 24 hours after the incident happened.

Lanuza advised parents to always keep an eye on their children.

"Syempre keep an eye ta dae man kitang pwedeng basulon. Dae ta man yan ginugusto aksidente ngani, pero sana mas naibitaran ini kung sinda mismo ang nakabantay," Lanuza said.
