Authorities engaged in an armed confrontation during an intelligence anti-insurgency operation in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Iriga City, Camarines Sur.
They arrested four men allegedly involved in illegal drug transactions at the operation's target residence.
A 38-year-old suspect allegedly fired at the authorities but missed, reportedly. He was arrested along with three accomplices.
Recovered from the scene were approximately nine grams of suspected shabu, valued at P61,200; a sachet of marijuana; an improvised shotgun; and ammunition.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Iriga City Police Station facing charges for violating RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act, RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and attempted homicide.
As of this writing, authorities are still searching for the three remaining suspects, considered armed and dangerous.
Assistance from neighboring municipal police stations has been sought to aid in their arrest.
“Nag-tap kami sa ibang neighboring municipal police station para po sa pagkakahuli po nitong mga nakadulag pong mga iba pang suspects po," PCPL. John Paul Boaquiña, Assistant Police Community Affairs and Development (PCAD) and Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) at Iriga City Police Station, said.
"Maco-consider nating armed and dangerous yan kasi baka may dala-dala po silang mga baril po," Boaquiña added.
