The driver of the sports car involved in a hit-and-run incident in Pavia town, Iloilo Province was identified positively by one of the victims.
The driver is identified as Bobot Chaves de la Rosa, a resident of Calinog town in Iloilo who is reportedly a businessman.
“Shefryl,” the wife of the person who died in the incident, said she remembers the driver’s face clearly.
She went emotional at the hospital when policemen showed her photographs of the suspect.
The suspect, she said, intentionally ran over her husband.
They were onboard their bicycle when the sports car hit them on the night of June 1, 2024 in Barangay Pandac, Pavia. Her husband "Rave" died in the incident.
Alias "Jimmy," an eyewitness said he saw how the sports car driver maneuvered to a reverse and ran over the victim intentionally, not just once but a couple of times.
The witness said that the driver left hurriedly when there were other cars coming.
The eyewitness vowed to give a sworn statement in order to help the wife of the victim seek justice.
On June 6, 2024, the Pavia Municipal Police Station sent its investigation report to the Land Transportation Office 6 and recommended for the revocation of the driver’s license.
Police are waiting for the result of an autopsy on the victim as additional evidence for the filing of a case against the suspect.
