A female prosecutor was shot dead in Barangay Aplaya, Digos City afternoon on Monday, June 10, 2024.
The victim's half-brother was arrested later in Sulop, Davao del Sur morning on Tuesday, June 11. He was identified through a CCTV footage and through witnesses’ accounts.
Investigation showed that the victim was on her way home when she was shot in the head by a motorcycle-riding gunman who was wearing black helmet, blue hooded jacket, and blue jeans.
Confiscated from the suspect were 12-gauge shotgun shells, ammunition, M16 rifle magazine, and the jacket and helmet described by the witnesses.
Authorities are looking into land dispute as possible motive in the killing.
