A 58-year-old man was arrested after he attacked his 52-year-old girlfriend by slitting her neck with a cutter at past 7 p.m. on June 8, 2024.
In an investigation made by the Talisay City Police, it was learned that the couple was onboard a motorcycle from the City of Carcar in south Cebu. Upon reaching the City of Talisay, about three towns away, the two had an argument.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Epream Paguyod, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said that the man committed the crime in jealous fit.
A case for frustrated murder was filed against the suspect identified as Alfredo Alinsug, a taxicab driver.
The Talisay City Police, along with members of the victim’s family, filed the charges in the morning of June 11, 2024.
Alinsug alleged that his girlfriend has another boyfriend, also a taxi driver.
The two were in a heated argument when the woman hit allegedly Alinsug’s head with her crash helmet. In a fit of rage, he attacked his girlfriend with a cutter in the neck.
He said he has no remorse over what he had done.
As of posting time, the victim is already in stable condition and is set for discharge from the hospital.
The two are from Cebu City.
