A former soldier and former barangay captain in Tinambac, Camarines Sur was shot dead while he and his live-in partner were on the road afternoon on June 10, 2024.
The two suspects were on board a motorcycle.
Residents in the area where the shooting happened heard several gunshots. The suspects reportedly shot at the victim's car first as it was maneuvering a curve. When the vehicle stopped, the suspects fired more shots.
The victim’s live-in partner, the head of the Public Safety Office of Tinambac, who was in the car with the victim, also sustained injuries.
Based on police investigation, the pair was heading home to Bombon when waylaid.
As of this writing, authorities still do not have a person of interest but are looking into the possibility that the shooting may have something to do with the victim’s previous work in the Army.
Inar Vic Florece, the chief of the Tinambac Municipal Police Station, said.
GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia tried to get a statement from the victim’s family but they have chosen to stay silent, for now.
