Two people died after a bus and a tanker collided in Barangay Flordeliz, Milaor, Camarines Sur.

The incident happened on June 13, 2024 at around 2:56 a.m.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicles collided suddenly, with no signal lights used.

The collision threw the tanker truck driver out of the vehicle onto the road. 

Initial investigation by the Milaor Municipal Police Station revealed that the tanker, carrying ethyl alcohol from Bauan, Batangas, was headed to Ligao City. The truck driver may have fallen asleep and lost control of the vehicle. 

The truck driver and one bus passenger died, while six other passengers sustained minor injuries.

"Outright, namatay ‘yung driver, and then ‘yung bus man po, aram kaitong driver na mababangga na siya. Immediately, nag-cover siya. Ang nagadan duman [ay] si nakatukaw sa seat number one,” PEMS Arlene Regachuelo, Municipal Executive Senior Police Officer (MESPO), Public Information Officer (PIO) of Milaor Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.

Police said they are coordinating with the truck and bus companies to assist the victims.

"Nakikipag-coordinate na itong imbestigador ta sa company kang truck saka duman sa bus kung pano ta matatabangan ining mga biktima, lalo na ining mga nagadan," Regachuelo said.

Since January 1, 2024 Milaor MPS has recorded 83 road accidents, with this incident being the most severe.
