A motorcycle rider has been unable to work for at least four days due to the injuries he sustained when his neck got caught on a cable that was hanging low in Barangay Antipolo Del Sur, Lipa City, Batangas.
The rider, Mark Macasaet, said he was on his way to his girlfriend's house in Barangay Latag when the accident happened.
He said he saw the hanging cable but it was already too late for him to avoid it.
The incident has been reported to the barangay officials of Antipolo Del Sur.
Barangay officials confirmed that the hanging cable belongs to a telco company.
Helson Leyesa, barangay councilman of Antipolo Del Sur, said there was an incident where two trucks backed into a telco pole, which may have caused the cable to hang low.
Macasaet calls on the cable owners to fix the cable to prevent further accidents.
"Para ayusin na lang 'yung mga kable doon para wala nang maaksidente sa susunod," he said.
Barangay officials are now inspecting other cables along the highway and reminded motorists to drive carefully.
