A resident of Barangay Mabilo II, Labo, Camarines Norte rescued a Philippine eagle, which the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The eagle, which had an eye injury, was cared for by the resident for several days before authorities were informed.

Upon learning about the eagle, the police retrieved it quickly and handed it over to DENR-Camarines Norte.

The eagle is in good health, and DENR will decide when it will be released back into its natural habitat.

Authorities advised the public to report wildlife encounters immediately.
