A woman died after her 27-year-old son allegedly struck her in the head with a shovel in Barangay Sampaloc, Sariaya, Quezon.
Based on a police investigation, the woman was asleep when her son allegedly struck her.
The woman was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators found that the son is suffering from a mental illness. He has been turned over to the police and is facing charges.
