A 63-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound outside a school in Davao City.

A resident in the area recalled hearing a gunshot before the victim was found lifeless.

“Siyempre makuyawan gyud ka kay siyempre karun pa ko ka kuan nga ing-ani naay gipusil duol ra sa amoa,” a resident, Christine Liba, said.

The man sustained a gunshot wound on his head. A caliber .38 revolver was found on top of his body.

As of this writing, investigators could not say just yet if there was foul play involved.

The man’s family told the police that he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and was facing financial problems.

“Before sa incident, naka-mention man gud ning namatay nga duna daw siya'y problema about money. Unya na-diagnose pud kini siya nga dunay stage 4 cancer,” Hugos added.

Authorities advised those who are suffering from depression to speak with their families or consult experts who can provide help.

“I-open up ninyo sa inyong mga family kung unsa man ang mga problema ninyo para, at least, matabangan mo sa inyong mga gisagubang nga mga pagsulay. Pwede pud mo muduol sa mga experts nato,” Hugos said.

Investigators are reviewing the CCTV footage near the area.

The man also made to undergo a paraffin test.
