Following the discovery of alleged illegal activities at a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Barangay Anupul, Bamban, Tarlac, the Tarlac Police Provincial Office (PPO) is now inspecting every barangay thoroughly in the province to ensure there are no other illegal POGO hubs operating.
"Mino-monitor natin ang lahat ng barangay, ang 511 barangays dito sa lalawigan ng Tarlac; at patuloy tayong nagkakaroon ng pag-conduct ng barangay visitation kasama ang barangay tanod na nagbi-visibility patrol," PCOL. Miguel Guzman, Provincial Director of Tarlac PPO, said.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is also seeking the cooperation of barangay officials.
Police forces remain stationed at the Baofu Compound to ensure security while it is closed.
"Sa ngayon,wala pa tayong reported na nakita na alleged [illegal] POGO Hub," Guzman said.
Meanwhile, the Bamban local government is also monitoring large establishments in the town.
"Nagpatawag kami ng courtesy call sa mga pulis namin. In-agenda with PNP and barangay officials kung anong magiging problema, [at] nag-courtesy call sa mga pulis dito sa Bamban," Erdy Timbang, Acting Vice Mayor of Bamban, said.
