Two architects escaped death after they managed to jump out of their pickup truck before the vehicle plummeted into a 100-meter-deep ravine in San Nicolas, Pangasinan.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of San Nicolas responded to the scene immediately.
Based on investigation, the driver may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.
The survivors are recovering in the hospital, as of this writing.
The section of Villa Verde Road where the accident occurred is known to be accident-prone.
Authorities advised motorists to take extra caution when traveling in the area.
